Title of the work

Practical pouf decorated with flowers inspired from motif patterns created by my aunt

Diane Blacksmith

Description

(2004) Fabric, embroidery thread, suede, beads, wood frame, polyester stuffing.
A strong inner observer with an amused and colourful outlook on life, Diane expresses, through her creations, the calm serenity which accompanies her meticulous and detailed manual work. She has seduced many observers with her creation of this sumptuous pouf. The inspiration for her work is derived mainly from flowers as well as from her aunt's uncanny talent. This skill she has inherited led to the creation, with the help of her partner, of a pouf decorated with finely embroidered petals, the embroidery symmetrically circling and proudly enhancing her beaded logo. The enthusiasm generated by her creative work is testimony to this artisan's talent and the degree to which she has mastered techniques and the art of poetry over the years. Her work illuminates us.
