Description

(2005) Cotton cloth, felt, beads, caribou hide, other materials.
"During the workshops, I had very rapidly cut out a beret, using red and black felt squares, which was inspired from the traditional Innu bonnet. Anouk tried it on and everybody liked it. I continued working on other designs until I decided to develop and elaborate on traditional ones. I often make lined winter hats. They sell well within the community. It is my daughter, Josée, who made me think that the children's "capine" which we use to go to the forest in the summer, could be used as a base in creating a warm model for snowmobiling. I created this design in arctic fleece trimmed with hare fur."
